Now That we have officially hit the one year COVID mark I am ready to ditch my sweats for some a little more fun. This DIY black and gold skirt is just the thing to get me out of my lounge wear funk. Don’t get me wrong, I love comfy clothes just as much as the next person, but I do miss getting dressed up. What about you fancy clothes yea or nay?
I made this skirt back in December with the silly idea that I might actually have someplace to go over the holidays. I was definitely wood about that. My family and I went absolutely no where in the month of December. That’s okay. I know there will be a time (Hopefully sooner than later where I will get to wear this amazing skirt.
Skirt Details
I bought the fabric for this at Joann’s and it was on sale, so I bought a lot. There will definitely be another outfit made out of this glam fabric. This was the beginning of my pocket obsession so yes this bad boy has pockets! The silhouette is a simple half circle skirt that I made using this pattern I purchased on Etsy. It’s a great pattern because it gives you multiple versions of a circle skirt.
Styling
I pulled out some oldies but goodies to wear with this skirt. A black camisole, my velvet blazer (similar here, and here) my DIY black feather bag (tutorial here), and a new pair of black slingback heels pulled this outfit together nicely. I realized recently that I don’t have a lot of heels. I rarely wear them, but I realized I needed of pair of nice black shoes so I bought a pair similar to these from Nine West. I actually like the pair I linked a little better, but I know I don’t need another pair…or do I?
Thanks for reading. I hope you’re having a great week.
