Happy Memorial Day! This week I am rounding up a list of the best white dresses for summer. Summer is my favorite season. I love all things white. Even though it used be considered tacky to wear white before or after labor day, that’s not the case anymore. I wear white jeans all year long. However, there is something about a white dress (wedding dresses excluded) that screams summer. While I love to sew, sometimes it is much simpler and less time consuming to buy instead of DIY. Also, summer is such a short season here in the Northeast that I want to spend as much time as possible outside instead of in front of my sewing machine. I do have a few outfit ideas that I want to make this summer, but I’m going to keep it simple and enjoy the warm weather.

As you can see J. Crew has a lot of white dress options, and almost all of the dresses are on sale.
I bought this dress recently at the Gap and it’s great. Simple, comfortable, and can be dressed up or down. I love the ruffle detail on the dress. I have a lot of ruffle skirts and dresses. I think this one is my favorite.
It’s also made of nice thick fabric so it’s not see through. That’s the hard part about wearing white. A lot of the time the fabric is so thin you can see right through it. Which is great if you’re Cher. Otherwise, if you’re not sold on the white, it also comes black, and it’s currently on sale! There is also a long sleeve eyelet version that comes in navy and white.
