The color olive is a great fall/winter neutral. It just as versatile and camel and goes with just about anything. I have had the fabric for this olive green wool skirt for a while. However, I only had about a yard and half so I was limited in what I could make. So, I settled on a simple circle skirt.
Design Breakdown
The design breakdown pretty much speaks for itself. I made a 1/4 wide circle skirt using this pattern I purchased on Etsy. Circle skirts come in multiple widths. You can make a 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or full circle skirt. The fraction determines how full the skirt will be. Since I had a small amount of fabric I was only able to make a 1/4 width olive green wool skirt.
Putting it Together
This is such a simple pattern the sews up very quickly. It’s only three pattern pieces. A skirt front, back and waistband.
How to Wear it
In the first photo I paid my olive green wool skirt with a white button down shirt, black booties, my black vintage military coat, and a leopard fur clutch that I made (read the tutorial here). You could also wear a pair of black tights depending on the weather.
The second photo is a more dressed up look. This time I paired my olive green skirt with a white camisole, gold heels, and and suede olive flex frame purse I made. You can read the tutorial for the flex frame bag here.
