It’s January (in case you didn’t know) so like most people I’m trying to get organized. One thing I’ve been really wanting to do is clean up is my computer. Most of my files are photos. I have taken a lot of photos ever since I stared sewing bags. As I looked through the files it hit me just how many bags I have made. I don’t know the exact number, but its a lot. Some turned out great and some…not so much. So instead of organizing my computer files I decided to dedicate a post to all of my favorite bags. Below in no certain order are what I like to call Roxbury Place bags greatest hits.
Roxbury Place Bags – Small Leather Case
These little cases are so versatile as you can see by what I styled them with. Originally they were going to be sunglasses cases, but I then realized how many different items you can put in them. I currently have one for my sunglasses and one for all my lipsticks/chap sticks.
Roxbury Place Bags – Leather Fringe Clutches
Remember a few years ago when fringe bags were all anyone was carrying? Well I jumped on the bandwagon big time, and made a lot of them. This is when I started to get serious about making and selling bags.
As you can see I made them in all different colors, and put straps on some. I also made a few different styles. Some had fringe on the bottom and some along the zipper, but the one that I liked the most had fringe along the sides.
Theses bags were such at hit! I ended up selling quite a few of them.
As you can see I used to put a logo tag on the outside of all my bags. I have since switched it up now and I use a small round brass charm with the logo on the zippers.
It’s funny to look back and see how much I’ve changed things in the last few years. I don’t use the faux wood background anymore. I was going for a “rustic” look I guess. You can see how I attempted to edit the photos, but didn’t pay much attention to the consistency of the background color. #armaturephotographer
Roxbury Place Bags – Leather and Fur Envelop Clutches
This next set of bags sold almost as well as the fringe ones. These were simple, sleek rectangular clutches. They are shaped like a business envelope so that’s what I like to call them.
They are very easy to make. There in no lining involved so all you need is one sq. ft. of leather. Cut a rectangular hole in the center of the leather to fit you zipper and either stitch it or glue it in place. Then fold the bag in half and stitch up all three sides. Easy Peasey!
This one below is one of my favorites. I made a few and kept one for myself. I love the contrast and pop of color from the red zipper.
Roxbury Place Bags – Bamboo Handle Bags
These are fun little summer time bags. The handle is great because you can slip it on your wrist. I made the bags in the photo below back in 2014. I loved these bags so much that I wrote a tutorial about how to make your own below.
Below are the more recent ones. I added a tassel zipper pull instead of the grosgrain ribbon like the ones above.
Roxbury Place Bags – Vinyl Lined Travel Bags
Last but not least is the vinyl travel bag. I made two versions of these bags, in different sizes. One was a flat clutch shape and the other had a flat bottom. These are the best bags to travel with. I lined them white oil cloth so if something explodes it’s not a big deal. The oil cloth keeps it from leaking on to your clothes and once you get to where you’re going all you need to do is rinse out the inside of the bag.
I also personalized some for a friend of mine who is a Rodan and Fields Consultant. I made the bags and had them monogrammed with the R+F logo. It was a great promotion for her and her reps. It was just in time for summer and they filled them with R+F sunscreen.
